OFFICE AND SERVICES BUILDING IN THE PORT OF ROQUETAS DE MAR, ALMERÍA, SPAIN.

The building is located in the Port of Roquetas de Mar, in Almería, Spain.
The projects objectives were to integrate the building into the surroundings and creating a new area the responds to a landscape dominated by different levels and materials. A landscape of great value with the Mediterranean as the background.
The Port’s concrete was used as the main material to contrast with the Board’s wood and this established the main line of work.
A fragmented building that responds to the different uses required. A part for services, open all day, an administration area, reception, maintaining between them a covered area leading to the the end of the quay. On the Upper floor there is a private from which the port can be controlled.
A band of white concrete wraps around the exterior spaces and unifies the different areas to create a focal point for the port.
