For its recent expansion, the Natural History Museum in Budapest, Hungary, asked architecture firm Mányi István Építész Stúdió Kft to design an addition that would help unify their century-old space in the Ludovika Military Academy. In response, the architects created an impressive entrance atrium that connects several different wings of the building.

The atrium's ceiling features huge skylights that allow exhibitions to have natural lighting. To shade the skylights, Hunter Douglas engineered an escalating series of custom-designed sun louvers. Each louver was individually sized and angled to fit precisely at its position on the roofline. The entire system is adjustable via a motorized control system.
