oculus the building laboratory [ OTBL] is an architectural +execution firm,located in coimbatore ,tn,south india since summer 2004
our designs are inspired by global inferences/nature/regional culture..... we attempt to make contemporary volumes with an indian flare
we term this as an attempt to present our [indian] practice in a global language
the " Ramakrishnan's residence" is one such effort where a fusion of minimalistic massing and Indianian detailing has been put forth!
the steel curves in facade is an ode to the language of intrinsic detailing that had been a tradition of the ancient indian architecture [organic]
the volume has been composed with all local science in consideration ,traditional Indian courtyards,green scape and the clients life style in wholesome
