The new mortuary sets a clear defined centre in the middle between the old and the new cemetery of Hörbranz. A yard in bright sand is set in front of the chapel and held by a 20 m long concrete bank with integrated fountain. The old weeping willow sets a strong point and defines a charming ensemble in front of the village church. The construction is done in light concrete with a horizontal structure of wooden formwork that continues in the oak door front in the same raw but positive structure. The strong wooden doors are covered by a strong porch that is the only cut into the clear geometric form of the building. The main room is lighted just by a narrow sky window, that lets the light flow along the back wall following the same wooden structure as outside. Two small separated rooms offer extra space for the mortician and the priest.
