A standard building system of Heijmans turns into 4 beauties.
An standard construction system called MORPH was developed by Heijmans Building Company. The system turns out to be very cost-effective, thus leaving money to add features to the dwellings, but also rather restrictive in its layout. To explore the “morphing” ability of the system, we implemented MORPH in 4 different locations: in the middle of a small, city(1), at the edge of a growing city (2), facing the landscape (4), and as the part of the revitalization plan of Amsterdam-West (3). Each location shows a site-specific solution of adaptation the MORPH system to its environment. Our study proves that, with some creativity, the MORPH system can be used in many different locations.
