Invited as part of a limited competition, our submission for the Michael Uren Building builds on our deep knowledge of the site developed during the design of the master plan and first two phases of development. It proposes a highly sustainable building of up to 22,000 sqm, which accommodates wet and dry laboratories, offices, write-up areas, a clinic and academic / teaching space.
The scale and massing offers a passive climate response and respects the public realm linkage between the north and south sections of the Imperial West Campus and develops the architectural language established in the first two phases. It provides a highly efficient, genuinely flexible floorplate arranged around break out / write-up spaces designed for the interaction that drives innovation & academic excellence.
