In only 8 weeks time MAUBOUSSIN, the French jewelry brand, is rebuilding its first ever store on famous Place Vendome in Paris that opened its door for the first time back in 1827. Designed by Regis Pean of omni//form, inc the new make-over will transform the store into a contemporary shopping environment offering 3 different approaches to shopping to its customers: the classical sit down scenario, featuring oversized comfortable French fauteuils and sofas in an exposed brick loft on deep purple and golden hand woven carpets under sparkling glass beaded ceilings. An oversized long sales bar made from absolute white granite set against an exposed brick wall featuring a hand painted wall graffiti by NY based artist Jay Lohman in a double height space with a large decorative fiber optics chandelier. And an IPAD station for direct access to online shopping for the customer who wants to cut the expected line to this new jewelry shopping experience. Diamonds are shown exceptionally in a dark black mirror room and bridal jewelry can be shopped in a heavenly white space in the back featuring, white feathers, satin moldings and mother of pearl satin covered furniture in contrast with white washed raw brick walls. The space doubles in size through the illusion of a mirrored wall along its center and features a similar explosion of lights made from fiberoptics. The store will re-open its doors on September 11, 2010.
