The project is an addition and renovation to an existing 1950's North Miami Florida home. The former master bedroom was converted into an indoor/outdoor master bathroom. The design incorporates architectural elements which connect the exterior lush tropical garden-shower to the interior. Surfaces with varied textures and reflectiveness define the bathroom. The height of a standard door (6'-8") serves as a horizontal datum for the project. A stone wall projects from the interior bath-tub and shower area to the exterior garden shower. The wall holds all necessary plumbing. A simple glass door divides the interior from the exterior. From the exterior during the day, and the interior during the night, the glass serves as a mirror to make the illusion of a complete wall. Two doors are hidden within the interior wall, adjacent to the stone - one leads into a large closet and another one towards the living room. Mirrors are positioned above the stone wall creating the illusion of a free standing wall which extends from the interior to the exterior.
