An existing 120m2 two-storey house in Highgate is refurbished and re-planned to form the first phase of a 265m2 five bedroom house. The existing house is over-clad in insulated ‘Sto’ render that would continue at ground floor level onto a second phase to wrap part of the new wing and the enclosing court / pool wall to the rear. The upper floor of the new wing would be a timber construction, clad in western red cedar that also forms a ‘frame’ that wraps the garden face of the house uniting existing and new and terminates in a new garage.
The garden is divided into an ‘outdoor living room’ defined by the new deck and pool, wrapped by a wall and a soft landscaped area.
