F. Truffaut high school Challans requires a new multipurpose room. It is pooled with the town of Challans and another high school. The uses range from theatrical practices, musical, film ... than in exam room or over.
To increase the capacity originally planned the project develops surfaces exceeding twice the basic program: 435 m2 instead of 254m2, outside courtyard. The equipment is mobile (telescopic platform) for more flexibility. The interior ambience is adjustable as needed total darkness to daylight.
the project deploys a large volume crossing east-west, which houses the lobby and the main room. It is a wooden box, open from side to side, the material brings rhythm, materiality grounds. To reach this simplicity interior acoustics is worked into a double volume under roof. This provision is accompanied by a peripheral gallery. It hosts various functions: access, toilets, technical rooms, storage ... The gallery is the dynamic support thermal control, summer and winter. The BBC and summer comfort levels are achieved by a bioclimatic envelope (ventilation and natural radiation, plant shade south, advanced west roof ...).
