Brief
One of the key landmark buildings in the heart of Newcastle’s most prestigious street has been restored in a £6.2m regenerations programme. Lloyds Court is large, prominent Grade II listed building and a natural, slate roof was needed to help with the strict planning regulations and to blend in with surrounding buildings.
By using our Tile and Slate support system, it was possible for natural slate to be used on top whilst also benefiting from the quick installation and thermal properties of an insulated roof panel underneath.
The Solution
By using our tile and slate support system mounted onto an insulated roof panel, it was possible to make the roof weather-tight quickly, allowing the internal trades into the development earlier than with a traditional build.
The traditional slates could then be fixed to the support frame and the roof could be finished in the style required for a Grade II listed building
