Living in Love

Living in Love

CHI-TORCH as Interior Architects

"Darling, isn't this beautiful? Sweetie, do you like this?" This is what we usually hear during our spoiled childhoods from our loving parents. Even though we were just kindergarten-aged kids. Every space, every bit of design brainstorming was all about whether the kids would like it, or how safe this place could be. Deepened window edges, doors with no handles, kids’ favorite color tone, a semi-open public space, all of these were included in the design to form a child-friendly residence, so that the owners could spend the most time possible that they could with their children. Located on the first floor, this old, narrow and rugged-shaped residence adjoins houses on the two sides. Using enlarged windows and dome window fixtures, it brings plenty sunlight into the house. Increased number and size of the windows create a nice cross-breeze that cleanses and purifies the indoor air to help make this place to a place for health and vitality. Natural, rustic and rich textures, deeply angled cut veneers with layers and circles, represent parents' endless love to their kids. Childlike colors and details in this child-friendly environment fully show the love of this family in every area of this home. We believe, the warmest growing environment is a place filled with full of love.
