HASSELL has created a distinctive new interior for advertising agency Leo Burnett's Sydney office. The layout is open, spacious and filled with natural light, providing spaces where the generation of 'big ideas' can take place. The space reflects the core social and interactive nature of a creative workplace.
The design concept draws on the surrounding urban environment of Walsh Bay. At the entrance a brick wall with large vertical and horizontal openings allows visitors to see beyond the reception and into the work zone, and then through to the outside. Vertical openings throughout the space frame views of Walsh Bay. The collaborative working space maximises the urban and water views that surround the building.
Timber, plywood and cork have been used to create a raw and natural environment. A timber screen gives privacy to a lounge area and casual meeting spaces are scattered throughout the workplace. Recycled materials have been used for joinery and a mix of new and used furniture adds a feeling of comfort and warmth.
