The 2010 University of Colorado Design+Build studio, led by the H:T principals, designed two pavilions for local non-profits Feed Denver and The Urban Farm at Stapleton. The non-profits believe through hands-on agriculture and environmental education, they can improve the lives of children living in high-risk, urbanized neighborhoods by helping to create a sense of positive self-regard and self reliance, a strong work ethic and hope. The studio produced a Learning Cube which marks the entry as an iconic open-air gathering pavilion and market. The Dairy House provides shelter for milking and shearing the animals. The pavilions were constructed by fundraising, material donations and found materials on site.
