As a starting point for kilim design, I used the classical kilim. Traditional forms speak of love, life, death and power. Simple copying of these forms is something that should be avoided. By making a kilim out of pieces that need to be assembled into a new unity, I tired to tell a story. Vertical and horizontal loom allows weaving of simple geometric forms. The desire to move these limitation led me to creation of new kilim structure and I made a kilim that goes into space where it is situated. Extensions and sewing become important parts of design of these kilims. By connecting different woven forms, I created a completely new kilim shapes and the seam itself is an incorporating part of the whole design. Enlarged forms are placed into perspective in order to create the depth illusion and the widening and narrowing of lines initiates in the observer the feeling of movement. Following these characteristics, a series of kilims is created with the depth and movement expression, these are the kilims that penetrate through space around them and become its integral part.
