The Challenge: Designers at RMJM Hillier wanted to create a floating custom staircase using translucent, light-transmitting material in a 5' unsupported span.

The Play: With 3form Chroma as a bold and translucent foundation, ideal for horizontal applications, 3form Architecture developed a custom 3" gauge specifically for this project using an innovative lamination technique. The 3form Arcthiecture team created a 3D model imperative for the design and fabrciation of custom routed hardware connections. They engineered the hardware for minimal usage, allowing for clean open spans of Chroma with exposed edges.

The Result: The ethereal staircase is a dramatic focal point of the large corporate lobby.
