ITCO Head-Quarters

Designers' Alcove for Art & Architecture as Architects

This office complex designed for a software development company in the National Capital Region comprises of 3 low rise buildings having independent entry and exit points, but enclosing a huge courtyard between them. This courtyard is the heart of the entire complex as it generates that much sought after "live-work-play" kind of atmosphere for the occupants.

The main feature of this complex is the climatically responsive facades of the main block and the administration block. Created using wooden screen panels which not only slide along the glazing horizontally, but also vertically, to adapt to the position of the sun, and allow apt lighting inside the building at any point of time during the day. They can be operated manually as the fixing system used is one of its kinds that make the movement of these panels light and smooth.

Another important feature of the project is the state-of-the-art terrace gardens, with stylish canopies, made of tensile fabric and SS structure.

The orientation of the buildings was carefully kept to harness maximum benefits of a passive energy saving design strategy. The main entrance to the complex is through a huge four floor high central court between the two wings of the first block facing the main road. The grandeur of the central space gives an unmatchable feel of entrance, while at the same time, eliminating the idea of an ordinary gate house entrance.
