Incà industrial complex, Barletta, Italy, (2008)

Alvisi Kirimoto + Partners as Architects

In a particularly degraded area of Southern Italy, Alvisi Kirimoto + Partners architecture studio conceived the Incà Industrial complex as a project that would dialogue with the surrounding context by means of an adaptable and combinable modular system, able to respond the industrial needs.

This new micro-urban complex, composed of small and medium sized footwear and knitwear manufacturing industries, developed in three phases from 1997 to 2010. It soon became a reference point for the entire industrial district of Barletta. Next to the first 48 warehouses, an administration and office building was built in 2010 that included other miscellaneous activities such as graphic and photography labs and dance schools, establishing a sort of prototype for industrial buildings throughout the country.
