ARCHELLO YOUR CONNECTION WITH ARCHITECTURE

Terrains too narrow are common in large towns, and this was the great challenge of this house in Sao Paulo. The terrain is 132 m2 and only 5.5 meters wide.
To build a large, light and airy house in a tight space, the architect left the circulation entirely vertical, leveled off the terrain and created a garden inside.
To the best use of space was essential to maximally reduce the circulation area and leave it essentially vertical. The option was to create two two-story volumes, the blocks were lagged amid ceiling. The floor was divided into living room on the higher block and dining room, office, kitchen and laundry area downstairs. Upstairs, the front is the master bedroom and the back, below the middle-ceilinged, two bedrooms and a bathroom.
With this configuration was determined one of the central elements of the project: the stair, executed on a sloping slab of bricks, makes the link between the ambiences and delimits the plans and levels.
To solve the problem of lighting and ventilation (the neighboring buildings blocked the incidence of natural light and ventilation) the solution was to create a landscaped courtyard in the center of the house, bringing light to all ambiences.
