House in lusowko

Tue , 22 February 2011

The plot is located near forest on the hillside from where spreads clear view of picturesque surrounding. It’s the last site on the street which is built-up by chaotic, accidental single-family housing. The history of this project begun with the need to preserve the view of the natural scenery. The goal was to capture the best views of hills, so the building was designed in the horizontal form, using natural topography of the terrain. The idea was to integrate building with the area that's why the house is partly situated in the ground. The local plan demanded a pitched roof but the client always dreamed of a house with a flat roof. So the shape is compromise between the two. Whole building is covered with the same material. The outer shell is entirely composed of wood panels. In the result of this the house appears to be very minimalistic. One of the external walls is almost entirely a large window connecting interior to the surrounding while providing natural light and ventilation. This creates a feeling of the exterior passing trough with the interior. The plan is simple and functional. It’s designed for two mature adults only, who needed there also a workplace. Living room, dinning and kitchen create one open space. Location of the house partly in the ground formed natural protective barrier. Open south elevation provides solar energy for all the house. The plot is located near forest on the hillside from where spreads clear view of picturesque surrounding.
