House in Kaijin

fuse-atelier as Architects

This project is a house built in the area where the house which is near to the center of Funabashi-shi crowded. The outskirts of the site are the irregular blocks where there are houses and apartments. The client had a house near this land, but he chose this more convenient site. It was the planned site of 70 square meters of built-for-sale houses that divided one site into four. Because a part of the neighboring land is parking space, it is felt to be wide visually. The client requested that 70 square meters of sites were the space of the house and the living room and bathroom were large, simple and beautiful space where internal space and outside space were united. They assume that they use the first floor as an office several years later.

From the present conditions of the site, I reduced the window of the outer wall to avoid the eyes from the outskirts as much as possible. Considering height regulation, I set the space of the house by setting a wall of 6M along a boundary line of site. The client requested to securea living room and a bathroom as big as possible and to unite them with outside space. The living room is united with a terrace when opening a big sliding door partitioning off a living room and a terrace. Thefurniture, the illumination and the air conditioning made minimum expression by being unified all with a building. The internal space was constituted in simple space and divide space by the sections such as level differences of the floor. Each space gave a proportion anda scale of the space corresponding to each actand controlled the correlations of space.

This house uses the scale being added contrastin the limited space volume and makes a relationship of the internal space various. The simple space being unified the inside and the outside characterizes this building by the delicate scene that natural light by a season and the time creates.
