Instead of old warehouses dating from the sixties, a streamlined modern building now stands on the site of a former auction in Barendrecht, designed by Roos & Ros architects. Functionality was given a higher priority than aesthetic values in the new development of this logistics distribution centre for Hillfresh, an FVW (fruit, vegetables, waste) company. The construction company, Bouwonderneming Stout, faced the challenging task of combining a well-organised layout with a focus on climate control. The firm Cladding Partners was contracted to provide the full architectural cladding. It was important for the logistics company to retain an overview of the grounds and the choice was therefore made to install the versatile Schüco adjustable louvre blinds. The project is marked by its high-quality finish and the fast pace of the construction work: the building was completed in no less than nine months – an exceptional performance!
