Green hospital

“Feeling at ease“ is the best medicine

GROHE as Manufacturers

The plan to build a hospital in which patients, employees and visitors feel perfectly at ease has been put into practice with the erection of Johannes Wesling Klinikum.

Since the opening in March 2008, the open architecture of the 867-bed hospital has ensured a harmonious atmosphere and a clear structure. Apart from its idyllic location, the “green hospital” is special in that it has only three storeys, which enables natural lighting for most parts of the building and creates a well-balanced link to the gardens and water areas of the site and the surrounding landscape.

Specialising in healthcare projects, the experts from TMK Architekten + Ingenieure created a true “feel-good” property. Patients, employees and visitors alike benefit from maximum comfort. Inviting patient rooms and a consistent orientation towards smooth workflows are key elements of the “feel-good concept”. The architects also paid attention to sustainability – an environmentally friendly energy supply based on biomass heating and photovoltaic systems underlines the the cutting edge technology to be found in the clinical center of the clinical centre.

GROHE also added a “dose” of comfort and safety to the state-of-the-art hospital. The wetrooms of the patient rooms are all about ergonomics. The Grohtherm 2000 Special shower thermostat not only features an innovative anti-scalding function but is especially easy to operate – which also applies to the Euroeco Special wash basin fittings. The Europlus E faucet and the infra-red Skate Air WC flush are equally user-friendly thanks to touch-free operation.
