Goldhurst Terrace, South Hampstead

Boscolo as Designers

One of our smaller budgeted projects, and with a strict deadline, this was property tested our mettle. Working for a private investor, we were required to renovate the interior of the three bedroom, three bath maisonette and garden. Commissioned in order to add value to the property as the investor wanted to resell, we sought to increase net value through not only the beautiful design but through architectural changes to the interior.

On The Design

We wanted to create a contemporary feel throughout - to update a property which, in its last iteration, felt dated and not particularly attractive. In order to do this we played with some interesting design features, such as the white book lined walls of one of the WCs. Perhaps not everyone's cup of tea, those who do like it would certainly see it as a talking point, undeniably adding value to their purchase.

Combining rich, dark wooden features with an understated light grey colour scheme, we ensured a soothing sense of space, light and airiness is a lower ground floor flat that could otherwise feel a little dark and dingy. This was also achieved through the use of fretwork which was to zone off certain areas of the property whilst not cutting out the thoroughfare of light which walling would have done.

On The Gardens

One key feature to this property was to carry over the contemporary design into both the front and rear gardens. We felt that sticking strictly to the interior design scheme wouldn't have looked particularly appealing in conjunction with the external facade of the property and so, keeping the greys and whites, we opted for a lighter wood on the benches and fence panelling.

Developing a relaxing space that could be well utilised during the summer, and an area which looks contemporary through the rear doors of the property, we kept the narrative of modern luxury which was this property's main sales point.
