Project : Georgians Revealed: Life, Style and the Making of Modern Britain Client : The British Library, London Completed : 2013
Reflecting the continued relevance of the Georgian era to our present day
Urban Salon were exhibition designers for the British Library’s 2013 temporary exhibition, Georgians Revealed.
A key objective was to create an environment that conveyed the continuing relevance of the Georgian era. The cases had graphic backdrops of collaged details from Georgian illustrations within the exhibits but also incorporating modern day details. A 70m2 Georgian map of Central London in the final room depicting the Georgian institutions and buildings still remaining highlighted the importance of the Georgian legacy to 21st Century London.
‘Urban Salon created a beautiful environment for the British Library’s Georgians Revealed exhibition that contributed significantly to the show’s success. From the outset, the designers understood and were inspired by the concepts behind the exhibition. They reflected the storylines and showcased the exhibits with imagination and skill. Urban Salon crafted a very happy collaboration between ideas and images.’
