Feasibility study and subsequent design of the new 270,618-SF, LEED Silver Frederick High School. Incorporating the principals of 21st century learning and flexibility, the new comprehensive high school is organized around a central community zone—the heart of the building—that provides a clear circulation path and includes the dining, commons and enclosed courtyard areas.
The design is intended to visually recollect the previous school building, which was of historical significance to the community, while providing new state-of-the-art teaching and learning spaces. Construction was completed in August 2017, with demolition of the existing school and the subsequent construction of new site amenities completed in 2018.
