The Forest Gallery

T.C.L - Taylor Cullity Lethlean as Architects

This exhibit promotes the idea of a new museum of the future, one that hosts living things and contemporary storytelling.

TCL acted as principal consultants of a diverse team of scientists, engineers and multi-media consultants in the development of a large living exhibit within the new Melbourne Museum.

Located within a large enclosed courtyard, open to the natural elements; living plants and animals, as well as sculpture and sophisticated technology are integrated to interpret the tall Mountain Ash forest east of Melbourne.

A feature of this project was the degree of integration of Museum staff and the consultant team. Close collaboration was an essential element in synthesising the vast knowledge of the Museum specialists, and transforming the many ideas and issues into a cohesive, inspiring and comprehendible interpretive environment.
