WORK PW BRAZIL EXPORT

The Choice of Lot Located in scenic and upmarket location chosen for the installation of PW Brazil Export Land has a unique area of approximately 30 thousand square meters, located in Colac, in the state of Espírito Santo.

Being a level of about 30 meters above the city plan, this plot got a regular and flat shape, providing the best use of your area, where you could see all the Vale do Rio Doce - that cuts the city in half the hills.

The major target unhindered give this architectural complex, a unique and differentiated landscape, which can be admired from any point of Colac.

implantation In partnership with the new entrepreneurs - owners of the work - architects Elio Wood Wood and Juliana could establish an innovative conduit for this project, so that met most of the needs required in the implementation of its structure, such as water harvesting, which originated from an artesian well of great depth, to meet the average monthly consumption of up to one million liters of water - used in washing and dyeing of garments process.

"We created a whole process of reusing this water from chemical dyeing processes, achieving a degree of clarity of up to 98% and can therefore be reused," he explains.

According to the architects, was implemented the generous use of natural lighting and ventilation in buildings designed, effectively providing a reduction in the strong external climatic impact that reaches its peak in the summer of 40 °.

Even with this solution, according to the architects, gave a considerable reduction in power consumption, enabling buildings operating from seven to seventeen hours without using it.

"This condition still checked, the environments characteristic of aeration desired such that the company could exemption from social charges for the unhealthy, causing a 30% reduction in leaf about three hundred employees."

Adopted Architectural Party Aiming to expand its production capacity for the domestic market and open up new opportunities in international business, the project proposal was to house a brand new garment industry. The program adopted foresaw the creation of four distinct blocks of buildings that housed the functions of Administrative building, Canteen and Auditorium, Production, and Laundry, respectively blocks I, II, III and IV, with a total building area of 8,500 square meters.

These buildings are oriented linearly arranged parallel to each other, giving a nice visual of internal offices throughout the complex. It is noteworthy that a minimum area of internal flooring was used to cater exclusively to the areas of parking, both the administration and for the switching yard (loading and unloading) and visitors.

Although the building has an industrial connotation, architecture favored the creation of large squares of arrival and plazas between the buildings, as well as strategically locating the access to deposits and dispatch areas, concentrated in a single courtyard. Also developed, independent and exclusive use of monorails for moving people and small loads, through mini-cars, the communication between production blocks and laundry facilities.

"This decision, we believe that right, made us believe that we would be reinforcing the character of security preventing the process of crossing pedestrians and vehicles, thereby accentuating the privacy and independence of each block."

Following the same reasoning, we can see an innovative result regarding the question of the image of the set, which looks nothing like typical industrial buildings. The construction process, the result of a creative work developed five years ago by professional team Elio Wood architecture could give a new identity to the company, making the architecture a key strategy for recognizing and promoting the image of the same market.

Elio Wood notes that the metal structure, used throughout the structural advantage of this work, has met all the requirements as required to cover gaps and closing facades, not implying sometime in increased costs of implementation, now planned by the group .

"Quite the contrary, this work compared to existing conventional systems on the market, owned a differential of only 10% in value, and it is undisputed that this same process could also provide customer planning a gradual disbursement of funds as the time required for completion of each stage of service, since the metal structure gives unparalleled speed in respect of installation and layout of buildings, "he adds.

The steel used in most of the structure is USI SAC-41, with a total weight of 220 tons, a structural area of 9,200 square meters with an average weight per square meter of 24 kg and a final value obtained across the whole of its realization civil constructions of R $ 4,200,000.00, yielding a cost per square meter of work of approximately R $ 495.00.

"So we can see through beautiful images recorded here the true reconciliation of good technique, plastic result of great impact and excellent economic performance," he says.

Administrative Building in the whole roof was supported by a range of 60 linear meters in only four supports, these pillars, 16 meters that connect to coverage through metal rods, eliminated the use of abutments, yielding large spans such a way as free plant, and several possibilities of organization.

Stands out in this building, three important target possible through the use of large glass panes: one for the city, other neighboring buildings and later to the local bucolic landscape. From this point of view, the peninsula area board has a privileged insight into all the aforementioned target.

With 750 square meters of floor space, the building that houses the Dining Hall and the Auditorium, arranged on opposite ends, a treatment may be given to a high standard, indifferent to the use classification, due to the use of all the perimeter of the facade of a unified special aluminum window frames, glass skin type and abundant transparency.

The transparency of the facade is protected from strong light, by a generous overhang 3 meters around its outline, allowing the use of these external circulations as balconies. Added to that building there is a small shop designed to overstock collections.

coverage The metal roof structure was designed to support up to four unique pillars, a consolidated set of metal beams profile "I", stabilized by locking all terçamento run on "U" profile tensed jointly to the closing of coverage for steel tiles.

Have the buildings of Production and laundry with built 6,400 square meters approximately, have the same conception of metal frame, consisting of a portico formed by a set of two pillars, one at each end, together with a metal trellis curve, providing a span 50 meters in width, this will, obtained through a system of rods fixed to properly guyed lattice and the external floor pillars.

This same structure is repeated along the entire length of this block, spaced every 10.3 meters. The party adopted allowed a free plan throughout the production and Laundry, fundamental requirements for constant changes and adjustments to your layout as well as a possible expansion, and expected to do so, a doubling structure without interfering with functioning.

Façades were conducted with large gable height of 6 feet in PVC translucent material shutters, thus making it a major driver of light and ventilation. The sheds that occupy the central part of all coverage causes the hot air that tends to focus on the environment is dissipated to the outside, bringing a sense of comfort to its users.

"This device meant that there was no need to use artificial climate conditioning, which besides reducing investment costs, also contributed to the elimination of possible future expenses. Despite the existence of a sharp external climatic condition, managed to get a feeling of thermal comfort in workspaces, with a daily average temperature around 26 ° ", puts the architect.

The blocks of Laundry & Production are only separated by a span of 10.3 meters, which corresponds to a module of the coverage, the sixteen existing, thus allowing a current independence between them, there also enabling a new area of expansion, connecting the buildings . Although there is such a separation therebetween, the volumetric result obtained through the succession of these large gantry plastic gave an unusual effect, giving to the whole unit.

According to the architects, in spite of the buildings sheltering activities with specific programs, was extremely important character printed in each own identity.

"This same formal balance can be seen throughout the collection, highlighted by an appearance of unity prevailing in our party, rich alternations between full and empty, highlighted by metal and glass areas, all integrated into a landscaped, and also visual plot that allows for the entire city. "

"Some we achieved very good results in terms of cost and quality, we emphasize here the importance of good technique allied to it, which makes the real architect of the differential in any work," concludes Elio Madeira.
