The idea is to reconsider classic Dutch façade. I love shapes and compositions of classic façades, and I think they are historic and elegant. Circles, curves, squares and rectangles compose windows, doors, roofs of façades. Those geometrical elements form beautiful fronts and create a really good scale in urban context.
The rules of geometry as symmetry are essential for determining the compositions.
I decided to break that geometry and to produce other kind of composition.
I used two layers: one of them is the classic façade, and the other one, the curves and their colors. Both of them make a different design.
While strolling around you can notice where you are looking at an historical building as well as a modern one. The aim of this facade is to make people looking think twice (or even look twice) before having that feeling.
Architects even with the sharpest looking would have to get another point of view before judging the building. For citizens it would be a high valued building since shapes and colors are attractive as well as balanced. Artists may get a source of inspiration by appreciating material possibilities.
Therefore this façade resemble freedom in movement and art quality keeping up with high construction standards.
