The Park of Dondaines is located in a strategic position, between the old and the new Lille, and creates a link between these two entities. The pedagogical farm of the park itself in the middle of this territory very strong showing pinion on street:
- the front of the pavilions comes align on the forecourt, the farm is therefore in the foreground on the street, it structure. - the belvedere tower stands out as a signal in the site, it is visible from the distant landscape share its 27 m height.
Pavilions come align on the frame of the Saint Maurice located opposite the Park of Dondaines Island, and thus fit into a writing already strongly marked. In order to integrate in the nearby urban context, blocks at the farm are overcome high walls enclosing gardens. They give a new dimension and the pavilions are the scale of the surrounding architecture.
The box, boxes in the forest forest. The building is a place to midway between the 'Follies' of Bernard Tschumi and blocks of stone. It is a framework where the urban, the animals and the plants meet. Its form is derived from its environment. It dialogue with its neighbours (Xaveer De Geyter buildings and school Arthur Cornette) by an entry in the bands, that allows to create a porosity between the Park and the street throughout the courtyard. Its establishment follows the progress of the trees and makes the link between the existing forest and across the street. Vegetation slips between the buildings, making them a part of nature. Use felt for the discovery of the visitors.
The farm is in connection with its environment. It gives a new relationship between men, animals and nature to give rise to new habits.
