The project is commissioned by a Belgian customer wishing to settle in France in order to live a happy retirement by the sea. The project is divided into 2 parts: one is to renovate an existing farm building to create two 2-room apartments for rental. The second part proposes the creation of a new wooden house by taking the morphologies of the region farmhouse. The singular form of the plot is used for the composition of the project by offering non-parallel walls that induce singular roof profiles. The new project wraps around a central patio that manages the privacy of each family. An indoor pool is created at the junction of the body of existing buildings and the new part. The project implements a solar thermal logic to take full advantage of solar gain in winter, a canopy protects the front of the sun in summer.
