As a part of the new traffic plan for the High Tech Campus, The City of Eindhoven commissioned DHV to produce a design for two road bridges and two bicycle bridges.
The ecological characteristics of the Dommel valley played a significant part in the design. A decision was made to construct four high, narrow bridges to ensure that the spaces between and underneath the structures would receive plenty of light and air. The balustrades of the road bridges are clad with cor ten steel and reduce noise and headlight glare from traffic. In contrast, the bicycle bridges were entirely executed in aluminum with an open structure that faces the water, offering a magnificent view of the Dommel valley.
