Brief
The architects wanted the Dandirri Contact Centre to be a flagship building for sustainable construction and design as well as providing a visually interesting, modern building that fulfilled its practical requirements. We provided our RW panels for the roof and the exposed sections of wall.
The Solution
RW panels were used on the most exposed walls and the majority of the roof. The thickness of the panels used varied from 60mm to 100mm and delivered an insulation R value of up to 5.35 The building achieved the highest Green Star score for an office building in the country: a ground-breaking 92 out of a possible 105 points during Green Star certification. The architects, Project Services, received a regional commendation for Sustainable Architecture and progressed to also win the state award for sustainable Architecture for their 6 star design.
Testimonial
Senior Architect, John Aitchison from Project services Queensland said; “We were lucky in that the shape of the ribs of the roof system (trapezoidal) was exactly what we were after”
Products used
3500m2 of RW trapezoidal panels were used on the walls and roof in a Champagne coating.
