DAE Building

Arkylab as Architects

In a university campus, architecture and landscape fields must merge in joy and recognition of the capabilities of the human being, even more because are sport and cultural activities. With that purpose, DAE Building (DAE, Student Affairs Direction) of the Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Aguascalientes, proposes to be a platform of exaltation of those experiences integrating various activities, containing them in a big box, a talent container, a monoblock enveloped in an effervescent tone that shows a pile of spirits through light pass. 960 circular perforations transforms across the day, giving a dynamic objective to the statically architectural mass.

The building weaves a fabric with the campus, framing the beautiful views to the city without blocking the other buildings. It traces a compositive axis that works as the vertebral column of the complex, adapting to the site’s topography at different levels, allowing universal accessibility.

The building is solved pulling itself up from the ground and taking the axis as the vertical joining element through ramps that communicate the system at the same time that generates an ending point as a window to the city,

The distributor space works as an open sky street, feeding all the spaces of natural light and ventilation. The south facade perforations generate cross ventilation gaining an interior climate comfort without the need of mechanical or electrical systems minimizing the energetic consumption of the building.

DAE Building becomes an effervescent energy box of dynamic transformation.
