Cultural center Rosenbach, Bolzano

Roland Baldi Architects as Architects

The Cultural Center is composed of two intersected volumes distinguished both by form and material. A transparent volume, housing the district library and the community center, is penetrated by a second, massive body containing the multi-purpose hall. The structural glass facade emphasizes the public nature of the building, provides permeability and transparency and allows reciprocal spatial relations between inside and outside. The cultural center, which is accessed from the public square “Angela Nikoletti”, includes a multi-purpose hall, rooms for the civic center and the district library. The multi- purpose hall on the ground floor is directly accessible from the main square and therefore particularly suitable for cultural events that take place at the same time both on the square as well as in the hall.
