With an edgy, industrial feel, the Craft Burg restaurant located in Kazan, Russia, is definitely on the unique side of the spectrum. The basic idea of the whole design concept was to create a cozy, intimate atmosphere that would reel in the customers. Since the CAS team was given an old building to work with, it became a contest on when and how the costs could be cut for a fast-paced execution. The history of the building ended up contributing to the aesthetic of the design. The modern-distressed look was complemented by the original exposed brick walls that the design team decided to keep. The warm color palate with a touch of cozy accessorizing and creative lighting made for an excellent visual upgrade that redefined the typical, timeworn ambiance of the original building. Moreover, the niches that look out to the city provide an abundance of natural light and some excellent outdoor views for the customers to enjoy.
