'COLUZ' ECO-CLINIC

'COLUZ' ECO-CLINIC

Luis De Garrido Architects as Architects

he architectural structure of the clinic pivots on two central courtyards, which provides natural lighting and ventilation to the whole. Thus the lines of communication of each floor of the building also serves as a natural ventilation channel.

The most characteristic feature of the clinic is the multimedia front, which can go beyond their physical structure to a virtual structure, continuously interacting with the environment. In the back of the screen-printed glass is a LED screen, so that by varying its intensity and color can be an unlimited set of forms in motion. Furthermore, this glass is projected on all types of graphic images and videos, so that the facade becomes a living organism continually changing and interacting with citizens moving in front of the building.

The ventilated facade has two chambers: the finish of the inner chamber is Ipe wood and the finish of the outer chamber is made of glass printed. Thus, the building is well protected from solar radiation, allowing large energy savings. The outer glass skin is made out of tempered laminated glass (4 +4 +4), decorated, with different layers of sunscreen.

The facade has been made so that, despite its striking visual impression semitransparent, integrates seamlessly with the architectural structure of the facades of surrounding buildings. A rereading of the current media facades of Barrio del Carmen in Valencia.
