Optics Climent is a shop located in the heart of the city of Valencia.
The ancient trade had no natural light or natural ventilation, finishes were basic , its inefficient and obsolete furniture showcase .
Thus the property raised the need for a comprehensive radical reform. This reform should include the following:
- Increase usable space , using the basement, and creating a new mezzanine. The surface should be multiplied by three. - Use a completely removable construction system , in order to facilitate flexible and future changes. - Use only organic materials. - Reuse, modify and update existing furniture . - Conduct an effective and natural thermal conditioning . - Optimize the lighting and natural ventilation . - Reduce the maximum energy consumption. - Make an attractive showcase that attracts customer and invite to come to trade. - Place a front for an optical symbolic . - Create a landmark in the urban and commercial fabric of Valencia. - Make a smart trade controlled home automation system - Make the most advanced, modern and attractive as possible optics.
The end result has been achieved with an open plan trade area, which extends over three levels. On the ground floor space to the public , optometry cabinet and toilet are located. In the attic of special care centers are located, and in the basement workshops and warehouses .
The action was carried out by a fully removable prefabricated and industrialized system. In fact, all optics could be removed in just one week. This conflicts with the property are avoided , and future reforms to be carried out in the optical to update it continuously are provided .
We must emphasize the multimedia nature of the trade . All glass panes and methacrylate are backlit with various types of LEDs. Thus, the lighting can be changed ( using an automated system ) according to the preferences of the property and the external conditions . Optic is constantly changing , and never perceived the same way.
In the bottom portion , and as a protection glass staircase , there are some glasses that change their transparency , as appropriate. Or are completely transparent , or they become opaque. The entire back wall is covered with mirrors . Thus, when the panel is transparent , the optical seems very large , while when the panel becomes opaque optical intima appears to be more and reduced . In this case all kinds of video images are projected on this panel , increasing the multimedia nature of optics, providing a strong and dynamic.
The furniture is made of recycle existing furniture in the old optics. A huge brown furniture that occupied an entire wall is divided into six parts , and these have been placed in an orderly and separated on a wall. The pieces seem to float as they do not touch the ground or touch each other . Being surrounded by a wall of backlit methacrylate , provides this mystical component that was looking .
Most artificial lighting comes from backlit panels and typical standard luminaires are not perceived . All lighting was performed using latest generation LEDs .
An important feature is the environmental conditioning system projected . Were placed condensing air conditioners inside, hidden behind the facade . This provision does not allow the systems to function , as these machines need to be in contact with the warmer air that has cooled . Ie need for a thermal heat exchange . Therefore, to be encased inside neither would the right temperature, and sufficient volume of air to operate. However this has been fixed in an ingenious way . Al has locked drawer where the machine has been supplied by two ducts, air from the basement, and outside air. This is the right temperature , and sufficient flow . But this mechanism has also turned three problems at once: 1) On the one hand , to draw air from the basement of the same odors are eliminated and not go up the staircase, 2) In this sense a depression is created in the basement that tends to suck the air from the ground floor which has direct outside ventilation. That is, a natural ventilation system is automatically created (through holes in the front door) , 3) the problem of noise from air conditioners is resolved . So do not make noise or the outside , or inside.
