The municipality of Olst-Wijhe considers sustainability an important part of their development. It’s no surprise the building of the new city hall was to reflect this admirable goal. Various aspects were incorporated during the build to ensure a successful result. To name a few; a better isolation of the shell of the building including double-glazing, solar panels, use of LED lighting, the use of daylight circuit arrangements (to restrict consumption), energy consumption of lifts and the optimization of entry and use of daylight. FAKRO was able to answer some of these requests by providing 50 high pivot windows. All implemented with extra isolation. Special flashings were needed to horizontally connect the roof windows in the thick flat roofing. A beautiful project to contribute to. With a score above the Dutch Building Act the municipality states their satisfaction with the new city hall.
