This house, located in Schoten near Antwerp (Belgium), was adapted in a bio-ecological manner. Outer shell parts were insulated and a new wooden construction was added.
Natural buildingmaterials were used. Wood fibres and cellulose flakes were used to insulate the walls and ceiling. The floor has been insulated with cork panels.
Thermowood (thermal modified wood) was used for external cladding. It's free of maintenance and it blends with the natural and green character of it's surroundings. All wood used is FSC-certified.
