The Van Marcke Group in Belgium invests 1.250.000€ and opens the first renovated industrial CO2 neutral building in Belgium on 14 November, 2009.
The renovated building will host Big Blue, an information and sales center, devoted to energy-friendly solutions for heating and water. The center, which enjoys the support from 26 partnering suppliers, is aimed at consumers and professionals like installers, architects and engineering consultancy agencies.
Caroline Van Marcke explains the concept in concrete terms: “Big Blue stands for the transfer of knowledge and custom-tailored efforts in providing energy-friendly solutions for heating and water. Private consumers can come to us for personal guidance and modular solutions. Everything is geared to their own, unique profile. In other words: the solutions we offer are tailored to their home environment, their budget and their expectations. We work with professionals in the same way: here, they are provided with information, customised training and support. By sharing know-how and providing concrete solutions, we continue to give substance to our commitment to sustainability"
Within this climate center, Van Marcke brings together all know-how and all stakeholders involved in energy-friendly solutions for heating and water: a unique venue in Europe and Belgium.
The building itself is a prime example of energy-conscious renovation. The former industrial depot, covering 1,500 m 2 in surface area, was completely renovated, refurbished and converted into a CO 2 -neutral building.
