A compact volume in which floors are sliding against each other to develop many outdoor spaces. The project consists in piling functions while giving each of them different qualities.
The access of the building is from the Menil street through a covered space under a overhang. The main hall, large and bright, allows users to move and share easily. From the entrance, the psychomotricity area is visible, largely open to the common courtyard and the small public garden planted with trees. The toy library takes place on two levels linked with a double height void and can be used independently from the day-nursery. On the different floors, separation between service areas and children’s sections is clear. Changing rooms are in a central position to allow controlling inputs / outputs and all adjacent spaces (sleeping and group rooms). The project develops on each floor generous terraces connected to every group room. The "big roof terrace" on the top is a meeting place for children of different age groups to play together.
