The project refers to a rehabilitation of an apartment in Lisbon, inserted in a modernist building of the fifty's has an elevated architectonic quality, that usually belonged to a middle to higher society.
The apartment has an area of 300m2. In the past, the plan of this apartment had a rigid and divide design with an obvious separation forms it's social, private and functional areas. In it's southern side it had great windows, were we could find the living room and bedrooms. In the northern side with small and horizontal windows, were located the technical and domestic areas.
The proposal redesigns the space with the goal of making it more fluid. The distribution area of the building was transformed into a central and single space surrounded by the proposal's kitchen, dining room and living room. The bedrooms maintain their southern orientation being divided by systems of closets, and with flexible panels that allow the connection between all the spaces. Panels and walls are white lacquered with a vertical composition of pieces of pine natural wood, as the floor.
