Apartments Debbeshoek

This project consists of three blocks connected by walkways. The head of the upper block to the Kempermanstraat is so positioned to avoid a confrontation with the opposing detached houses. By the angular rotation between the blocks, the intermediate court is open to the street. The walkways make the court a more sheltered area, a place to play bowls, for example. The entrances of the apartments are on the high court and are so co-oriented, while the outdoor spaces and living rooms on all sides are situated to the environment. The walkways between the two separate blocks are broader to a number of places, so they can be used as additional outdoor space where people can meet each other informally, hold a gossip, or just sit in the sun. The third block is an extension of the existing nursing home.
