Situated in one of the neighborhoods with a privileged relationship with the banks of the Tagus River, this building from the beginning of the century.XX is set in a neighborhood with relevant features of architectural value, with an elevation that defines a perfect setting in the historic district where it is inserted.
The workshop was proposed to recover the full reconstruction of facades and floor 4, 5 and coverage while retaining the original uses of housing.
The intervention was based assumptions 3, strengthening the structure, the elevation of the right foot and creating a large gap that acts as a lookout over the city.
With these assumptions, the RRJ atelier Architects preserved and rehabilitated the main facade of the building. Were also recovered two identical dormers to existing retaining the balance of the set, ensure natural lighting and ventilation to the adjoining rooms.
Checked inside an excess of partitioning of spaces, and the intervention sought to create a more formally defined and open environment mezzanine arises from the use of structural strength and the large existing right foot.
The apartment is now increasing, Floor 4 , 2 bedrooms, kitchen and living space and floor 5 , we created an office space with a bathroom of support.
