A brightly colored patchwork style curved wall defines the main circulation path and provides a visual focal point for this 260 seat service center. It is located in a renovated 57,000 square foot abandoned formerly used by Service Merchandise.
Project decision-making is guided by economic analyses of the firms award winning “performance design” approach to call center design as well as their knowledge base gained from the accumulation of case studies, research and publications. Such material supports the notion that people perform better in enviroments that provide an appropriate balance between functional work space and visual stimulation.
The center utilizes an integrated, raised floor system with under-floor HVAC to provide personal comfort control. Sound masking assists in giving the worker acoustic privacy, and a combination of indirect, task and day lighting give the worker the appropriate footcandle for the tasks at hand.
