Site and use of the site: The wooden house has been designed on a flat, wedge shaped site with north side of the site having heavy traffic conditions. In the massing of the building, the aim was to create a sheltered garden and trainquil views from the living spaces. The large covered terrace, living spaces and covered entrance connect to eachother by a void that acts as a terrace. The void creates shelter to the main windows and entrance area from the sun and rain.
Architecture and use: The aim of the architecture was to create a simple and clear timber building mass. On the L-shaped building, the cross wing has four rooms with additional space whilist the kitchen-ding-livingspace and the covered terrace form a clear overall series of spaces opening up to the sunny garden. Within the main building mass there is an outside storage and fireplace that seperate covered car parking space located at the end of the covered terrace.
Materials: The structure of the building and supporting elements are timber. The facades are painted spruce and the terraces are covered with non treated larch.
