Čulinec Primary School

A meadow in Čulinec, intended for a future school is surrounded by humble family houses and orchards. The school does not want to change the character of the space in which it’s emerging. It’s taking over the structure which surrounds it. Narrow streets and small gardens are elements that organize it, one-store houses and hip roofs are elements which shape it. The school is a one-store house in an orchard. All classrooms are oriented to south and all of them have their own garden. Entry to the school is on the north side, where the entrance is opened toward the access street. Open playgrounds are places on the same, north side of the school. After entering, the functions are being distributed. Multifunctional hall, library and the gym can functionindependently, during the night regime. Students walk towards the classrooms trough a gallery between the big gym and small gardens. By an architecture of everyday shapes, small scale and humble materials, we support anonymity as a social merit.
