ANdAZ Maui at Wailea brings a new level of environmental consciousness to one of the most sought after destinations in the world, showcasing apaiser customised stone bathware in its stunning modern bathrooms. Designed by the award winning design and architecture firm Rockwell Group, the resort has a design approach that reduces energy and water consumption, minimizes waste and harmful emissions and stresses sustainable design as an integral component of its overall strategy. apaiser’s commitment to manufacturing a range of luxury stone bathware which is respectful of the environment strives to produce a product with consistently low environmental impact in all phases of the manufacturing process. apaiser’s core objective is to create freestanding bathtubs, shower bases, vanity basins that not only look beautiful, but are also sympathetic to, and impact benignly on the environment. ANdAZ Maui is Hawaii’s first LEED certified resort under the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system, the globally accepted benchmark for green buildings. This renovation of a former Renaissance hotel is the latest addition to Hyatt’s boutique-inspired brand encapsulating the essence of the Hawaiian Islands. The general style of the resort focuses on the beauty and simplicity of a traditional Hawaiian residence, the calm atmosphere is created by using local timbers, lava stone, neutral plasters and finishes. The existing buildings were scaled down to create a more intimate experience within a large property footprint. apaiser custom designed bathware for every standard guestroom, deluxe guestroom and suite (297 rooms total) including all villas (7 in total) and the ANdAZ spa.

Each bathroom features beautiful organic wood slat vanity stands with custom apaiser stone Ramp vanity basins and custom apaiser Seascapes freestanding bathtubs with no base. Perhaps the most striking element to the ecofriendly luxury bathrooms though are the huge custom shower trays, some over 3 metres in length, complemented with rain shower ecosystems. Bathroom shutters in a whitewashed oak open up to a direct view of the ocean and maintain the light and airy quality of the resort. The modern bathroom design really connects guests to the water and embraces the importance of water in Polynesian life. apaiser source the highest quality reclaimed marble from local quarries within a very short distance from the apaiser factory. The quality and standards applied are of the highest level and IAPMO certified. The apaiser reclaiming process is an environmentally beneficial step for the local industry and ensures all apaiser stone bathware is ecofriendly in every step of the manufacturing process. The unique manufacturing process allows apaiser to create sublime and fluid shapes in almost any form, with uniformity of colour, strength and integrity unachievable in natural stone. This attractive, sleek and low maintenance product is versatile, light and durable, offering the option for installation in elevated floors. It’s no wonder that apaiser is the stone bathware of choice for the world’s leading luxury hotels and resorts, properties with extremely high design standards, which typify excellence across all areas of operation, showcasing design quality and attention to detail.
