Located in a central area of the city of São Paulo, the project designed by the Studio AIC ARQUITETURA E URBANISMO and the Architect Israel Sancovski (Restorations of the commercial builidng), is part of a project for the restoration of the "Campos Elísios" neighbourhood.
CHALLENGE
The challenge was to resolve the architectural language that had to be maintained between the two existing buildings, on the one hand, the shopping centre and, on the other, the newly built Theatre. This harmony of languages has been possible thanks to the flexibility and adaptability of the ULMA Ventilated Facade system.
To tackle the restoration project of the existing building it was necessary to strengthen both the structure and the pillars of the building. Another decisive factor was the choice of materials, their finish, resistance to atmospheric changes and quick installation.
SOLUTION
3,000 ml of polymer concrete ventilated facade have been installed, specifically from the Vanguard range, in P06 colour. The panel format chosen for the project was - 1.80 x 0.90 m, a large format which gives the building an elegant character, turning the existing tower into a new sustainable construction. It is important to note that thanks to the ULMA installation system it has been possible to prevent the demolition of the original facade. "Thanks to the fixing system used by ULMA, which is flexible and adaptable to each project, it has been possible to correct a difference in the underpinning of the construction of almost 10 cm, in addition to preventing the demolition of the original facade" said Rodrigo Gamero, the company's sales representative.
Other positive aspects of this construction system to highlight are the energy savings it provides, its high durability and easy maintenance. It also offers a choice of formats, textures and colours. Rodrigo points out that "the reasons that led the architect to opt for our constructive solution were the technical solution offered, the aesthetic possibilities and the sustainability offered by this constructive system.
